Gaining Confidence and Independence: Jess’s Road to Success in Mildura

Gaining Confidence and Independence: Jess’s Road to Success in Mildura

When Jess voluntarily joined the Parent Pathways Program in November 2024, she had one key goal in mind: to build her confidence and gain her Probationary Driver’s Licence. With the support of are-able and her dedicated mentor, Reney Hutchins, Jess has stayed focused and determined—and now, her efforts are paying off.

Throughout the program, Jess consistently attended appointments and remained committed to her goal. Her progress and dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Fiona from 5th Gear Driving School reached out to Reney with exciting news: Jess was ready to sit her practical driving test.

To support her next steps, are-able provided transport to VicRoads for Jess to book her test and also covered the associated fees. In the lead-up to the big day, Jess and Reney worked closely with Fiona to organise a final one-hour driving lesson and ensure access to the 5th Gear vehicle for the test.

Reney shared her pride in Jess’s journey, saying:

“Jess has shown incredible determination and resilience throughout this process. It’s been inspiring to watch her grow in confidence and take control of her future. Gaining her licence is a huge step toward independence, and I couldn’t be prouder.”

Jess’s journey is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through dedication, support, and strong community collaboration. Programs like Parent Pathways offer more than just services—they provide life-changing opportunities that empower participants to move forward with confidence and independence.

Congratulations, Jess!

If you or someone you know could benefit from Parent Pathways, reach out to are-able today. Let’s work together to empower parents and create new opportunities!
