Portland Community Connects for Parent Pathways Success
Our are-able team in Portland, working alongside our dedicated Parent Pathways Mentor Tess, recently partnered with Funky Hearts to host a vibrant Community Connections Event. This special gathering, held on 1 July 2026, was designed to be a free and family-friendly occasion, bringing together local residents for a day of enjoyment and connection. Attendees were treated to delicious food, refreshing drinks, exciting giveaways, and even face painting, ensuring there was something for everyone to love.
The event proved to be a fantastic success, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where community spirit truly shone. For Tess, our Parent Pathways Mentor, it was an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with many local parents and families. We observed significant interest in the Parent Pathways program, which is specifically designed to support parents in building skills, confidence, and pathways to meaningful employment. Tess had numerous meaningful conversations, discussing the tailored support and opportunities that are-able provides to help individuals achieve their career goals and navigate their employment journey. We believe everyone deserves the chance to thrive, and this event was a wonderful way to showcase how we walk alongside people every step of the way.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making the Community Connections Event such a memorable day. The overwhelming support from the Portland community was truly amazing, reinforcing our belief that together, we create opportunity. This event perfectly embodies our commitment to providing local support with real impact, fostering stronger connections and empowering individuals on their journey towards employment. It was a wonderful example of how we work alongside community partners to build inclusive environments where everyone feels supported and valued, helping to build a more connected and resilient community.
