Jessica’s journey to a fulfilling career

Jessica Kenna joined our Parent Pathways program with a clear goal: to secure stable employment and enter the workforce. From day one, Jess showed determination to create a better future for herself and her family in Mildura.

Throughout her journey, we were proud to support Jess in many ways, including resume and cover letter preparation, job searching, workwear assistance, vehicle transfer costs, car servicing and registration, and providing food and fuel vouchers during times of financial pressure. Our mentors, including Reney, Annalise, and Tiana, even spent time driving Jess to local businesses to personally hand out resumes and connect with potential employers.

As Jess’ youngest child started school this year, she became even more focused on achieving her employment goals. Jess applied for countless jobs, traineeships, and apprenticeships, particularly within the automotive industry. Despite attending numerous interviews and facing several setbacks, Jess remained determined and continued to put herself forward for every opportunity.

Through her persistence, resilience, and hard work, Jess successfully secured a position with GTS Freight Management as a Tyre Fitter.

At her final appointment, Jess shared how much she enjoys her new role. She spoke highly of the work itself, as well as her supportive colleagues and supervisor, who have helped make the workplace a positive and welcoming environment. We are incredibly proud of Jess and all she has achieved. Her story is a reminder that persistence pays off, and that with determination, confidence, and the right support, great things are possible. Congratulations, Jess! We wish you every success in this exciting new chapter.
