Charlotte’s employment journey with are-able
Building confidence, skills and independence through meaningful employment.
When Charlotte first connected with are-able in 2020, she was beginning to explore what her future pathway after school could look like.
Through School Leaver Employment Supports, Charlotte worked with our team to build her confidence, strengthen her everyday skills and prepare for future employment. This support helped create a strong foundation as she started thinking about her goals, interests and the type of workplace where she could continue to learn and grow.
As Charlotte’s journey progressed, she continued to receive employment support through are-able. In February 2024, she commenced in DES and then moved into the Inclusive Employment Australia program, working closely with the team to explore job opportunities, develop workplace skills and take practical steps towards paid work.
With ongoing support and encouragement, Charlotte secured employment at local café Twelvefold in November 2024.
Since starting in her role, Charlotte has continued to grow in confidence and independence. She has strengthened her communication and customer service skills, built positive workplace routines and become a valued member of the Twelvefold team.
“Charlotte has made wonderful progress in her employment journey. It has been great to see her confidence grow, along with her communication and customer service skills. She has worked hard, embraced each opportunity to learn, and is continuing to take positive steps forward in her role at Twelvefold.”
