Danial builds confidence and new skills through SLES work experience in Bendigo

In Bendigo, we have been proud to support Danial Turvey through our NDIS School Leavers Employment Supports (SLES) program, where he set out to strengthen his work ready skills and take part in real workplace experiences. Danial chose SLES because he wanted practical opportunities that would help him feel more prepared for employment, and to keep building his confidence in a supportive environment.

Danial recently completed work experience at Bunnings, with our are-able team alongside him to provide the right level of support as he learned on the job. This experience helped Danial grow his confidence and readiness to work, and it also helped him discover new skills and enjoyment in the workplace. After completing his placement, Danial felt motivated to try other departments at Bunnings and explore different work opportunities, showing just how powerful the right support and a welcoming workplace can be.

Danial shared, “are-able was very supportive when it came to my adventures at Bunnings. are-able are always supportive of everything I want to do and help me to find opportunities I would not be able to find on my own.” We are grateful to the Bunnings team for opening their doors, and for the chance to work alongside local employers to create inclusive workplaces where people can learn, contribute, and thrive.

If you are looking for a supportive pathway into work, or you are an employer who wants to offer meaningful work experience, we would love to talk.

Together, we create opportunity.
