From Parent Pathways to a Fulfilling Career in Community Support

We are delighted to share Breanna’s inspiring journey from Mildura, who connected with our Parent Pathways program after learning about us on social media. Breanna was eager to gain a qualification that would open doors to meaningful work within her community, and our team was ready to walk alongside her to make that a reality. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive, and Breanna’s determination shone through from our very first conversation.

Working closely with her Mentor, Reney, Breanna identified her passion for community support and her desire to make a difference. We helped connect her with genU Training, where she enrolled in a government-funded Certificate IV in Mental Health, a perfect fit for her aspirations. To ensure Breanna had everything she needed to succeed in her studies and beyond, our Parent Pathways program provided comprehensive practical support. This included essential stationery for her course, a keyboard that connected to her iPad, which she preferred for her studies, and assistance with a CPR refresher. Understanding the broader needs, we also helped with supermarket engagement vouchers, ensured her vehicle registration was up to date so she could reliably travel to and from work, and provided fuel vouchers. This holistic approach helped remove practical barriers, allowing Breanna to fully focus on building her skills and confidence.

Breanna is now thriving in her new career, demonstrating the real impact of local support. She successfully secured a role as a 1:1 Support Worker at Ability2Aspire and, through her dedication and growing expertise, has since been promoted to NDIS Coordinator. In this vital role, she works closely with participants, helping them navigate and maximise their NDIS plans. With her Certificate IV in Mental Health almost complete, Breanna is not only enjoying her work but has also achieved a great work-life balance, continuing to receive post-placement support from our team. Her journey is a wonderful example of how tailored support can create lasting change.

We are incredibly proud to support individuals like Breanna as they build skills, confidence, and pathways to meaningful work. Together, we create opportunity and foster inclusive communities where everyone can achieve their goals and make a valuable contribution.
