Industry Tour at RESPECT Aged Care Offers Valuable Insights and Celebrates Success

Earlier this year, we partnered with Janelle and Neil at RESPECT Aged Care in Portland to arrange a guided tour of their facilities for our are-able staff. Our aim was to give our employment consultants a firsthand understanding of what a typical shift looks like across various roles on site. This direct insight helps us to better prepare and support people looking for work in the aged care sector, ensuring they are well-matched to roles where they can truly succeed and thrive.

Our team recently attended these industry tours, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Staff were shown around the facilities, gained valuable insight into daily operations, and learned about the types of skills people need to be successful in aged care. Understanding the day-to-day realities and specific requirements of these roles is invaluable. This experience not only enriches our team’s understanding but also strengthens our ability to connect job seekers with meaningful opportunities and support employers in finding dedicated, well-prepared staff. It’s all part of our commitment to local support and real impact.

A true highlight of the visit was seeing one of our own participants, Beverley, on shift during the tour. She generously shared what a typical day looks like for her and walked us through her responsibilities. It was clear to everyone that Beverley takes great pride in her work and genuinely enjoys the interactions she has with residents. Her confidence and professionalism while speaking with our team were a credit to Beverley, and a testament to the supportive environment created by her colleagues at RESPECT. It was inspiring to see her flourishing in her role.

Beverley has now been employed at RESPECT for around four months and has proven to be a reliable and valued member of their team. Her journey is a wonderful example of how local support can create real impact, helping people to build skills, confidence, and pathways to meaningful work. We are proud to work alongside employers like RESPECT to build inclusive workplaces where everyone feels supported and valued, contributing to their community. Together, we create opportunity for both individuals and businesses.

We are grateful for the partnership with RESPECT Aged Care and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to create more opportunities.
