From Learner to Licence, Employment, and Independence with are-able

We are incredibly proud to share Susitina’s inspiring journey, a testament to her determination and the support provided through our Parent Pathways program. Susitina joined us, eager to build her independence and create new opportunities for herself.

A significant step in her journey was gaining her probationary licence. In partnership with Local Jobs, we launched the Drive to Thrive initiative, which proved instrumental. Aimee from Licensed to Drive travelled to Robinvale, providing essential driving lessons that helped Susitina build her skills and confidence behind the wheel. We were able to cover the cost of these lessons, directly contributing to her success in obtaining her licence.

Since achieving this milestone, Susitina has gone from strength to strength. She has secured employment, purchased her own vehicle, and gained a wonderful sense of independence. Our support continued by assisting with engagement vouchers and covering her vehicle registration costs. Currently, Susitina is also studying, and we have provided a laptop to help her with her education.

Susitina’s story beautifully illustrates how local support can create real impact, empowering people to build skills, confidence, and pathways to meaningful work. We are so proud to be part of her journey.
