Porsha Drives Towards Independence with Support from Parent Pathways

We are delighted to share Porsha’s journey with our Parent Pathways program in Mildura, where she set out to achieve a significant goal: obtaining her driver’s licence. Porsha had a clear vision for her future, understanding that a licence would bring greater independence for both herself and her daughter. She chose 5th Gear Driving School to help build her confidence, starting with five driving lessons as a solid foundation.

We were proud to support Porsha through each step, funding her driving lessons, the testing fees, and the use of 5th Gear Driving School’s vehicle for her test. Her dedication paid off, and Porsha successfully passed her driving test, securing her driver’s licence. This achievement marks a wonderful step forward in her journey towards increased independence and mobility.

Our support for Porsha extended beyond her driving goals. We also provided transport for her and her daughter to appointments, ensuring safe travel by supplying a rear-facing car seat. As Porsha prepared to return to work, we funded appropriate work boots, purchased from Totally Workwear, where the staff offered excellent support. We also provided Porsha with ongoing support vouchers, demonstrating our commitment to her continued progress.

We continue to work alongside Porsha through the Parent Pathways program, supporting her as she achieves the goals that are important to her and her family. Together, we create opportunity, helping people build skills, confidence, and pathways to meaningful work and a more independent future.
